![]() We are the leading manufacturer of air and sound. From our humble beginnings with a handful of employees building fire dampers, Ruskin has grown into the largest and most innovative manufacturer of air control solutions with 29 production and office locations worldwide. Sizes varied from 78” to 96” inside diameter. Ruskin® was founded in the Ruskin Heights area of Kansas City in 1958. As with all Ruskin Sound Control silencers, the data for these products has been developed in strict accord with ASTM E477 in independent, nationally recognized. These silencers are the first choice of designers for rectangular dissipative silencers. ![]() Constructed from 18 gage galvanized shells using 2 x 2 x 10ga square tube reinforcement. Today, that family of silencers consists of the Ruskin Sound Control Models A, AM, and DM. Ruskin Sound Control also supplied model XFA for fan discharge installation fan discharge. Each damper was supplied with square round transitions to be fitted up to steel I beams and shipped separately to be fire proofed prior to shipping the dampers. Ruskin model CD80AF2 built as standard construction other than using aluminized steel for the higher temperature application. All splitters supplied are designed to be shipped knocked down for field assembly. One of the larger splitter assemblies measures 234” x 87” x 144” and weighing 25,490lbs after fully assembled. The Splitter silencers were constructed for 482 F/250 C degree for 1 hour using 10 ga galvanized exterior casings, 4 inch panel inserts and heavy structural angle steel reinforcement. Although the product model names are familiar the application was quite unique. Ruskin Splitter silencers, CD80AF2 and XFA Fan silencers were engineered specifically for this project. ![]() The Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project is a joint venture by the New York City Department of City Planning and Metropolitan Transportation Authority. ![]()
